Mercedes-Benz AMG SLK55
When Johnny contacted me to buy a canvas of his SLK55 from a cruise a couple of months back I said “Yeah sure, but it’s just of your car on the side of the road. Why don’t we do a proper photoshoot of it and give you some great pictures to choose from!”
Without a moments hesitation he was in.
I find the front end aesthetics to be quite classy in true Mercedes fashion, but still angled and precise enough to let you know that it’s not just a pretty face.
Moving to the back, it becomes quite rounded. An elegant rear end.
It’s quite rare to see the SLK55 AMG come in this simply stunning Orion Blue Metallic paint.
The SLK 55 has a 5.5L V8 HANDBUILT engine sitting between the strut towers.
Punching out perhaps an unassuming 265kw (355hp in the old money), It can pilot the AMG to a mid 12 second quarter mile.
Framed by 18 inch wheels, the ’55 has no troubles pulling up with impressive 345mm rotors on the nose, and 300mm on the back. I’ve always loved the look of AMG brakes as well.
With any sort of high end cars, you generally have your ups and downs.
The 7 speed transmission in this car allows you to cruise in comfort at any speed, whilst still being able to have performance at the tip of your fingers.
Carbon fiber accents are everywhere in the interior.
Classy gauges. Had me sold the moment I realised it had an analogue clock (my supercar weak point).
The SLK55 really a beautiful car, especially when you get close up.
That brings us to the end of another feature. Thanks to Johnny for coming to me with the AMG, I had a ball shooting it.
