Gintani Track Day

Thursday before last I was invited out to Queensland Raceway by Dave from Gintani Australia. It was a no pressure afternoon session with no timing, but full helmet racing. A good opportunity to have a driving instructor jump in your car with you, help you with your lines and to learn your car. It was blazing sun all day, less than desirable shooting conditions, but glad I wasn’t getting drenched in rain as is common of late.

Dave himself owns a flagship Gintani modified M3. Packing over 600hp with the supercharger kit, the car sounds unreal and performs the same. “A monster on the track, and a limo on the way home” is how Dave describes it.

It wasn’t the only one though. Jarrad bought out his supercharged M3 as well. The sound from this one was just ANGRY.

Whilst the day was predominantly M series cars…

…there were some other types of cars in attendance. Including some friends.

Foy from Downshift had his civic out for some testing. He had his own in-car timing, which recorded a 59.6 on the day.

Domestics were out.

However the day was definitely ruled by the Germans.

This E36 was making around 260kw.

But was completely stripped.

Thanks again to Dave from Gintani Australia for inviting me out. Was a great afternoon with a great bunch of people!
